SFH Session 14: Every time I forgive someone, I am engaged in the act of Creation
SFH 14: January 22, 2019
“Judgement contracts, and forgiveness expands. Judgement is a debt, and forgiveness pays that debt.”
We began this session with a conversation around judgment. We examined the areas where I was stuck in self-judgment around impatience, comparison, unworthiness, and sadness. We explored where I was still entertaining “non-powerful listening” against myself, even with my I AM document. We mined for gold, and we found a goldmine of possibility!
The genesis of conscious creation commences with a heart at peace. Every time I forgive someone, I create a space in my consciousness so it can be used to create instead of tearing something down. Judgement contracts, and forgiveness expands. Judgment is a debt, and forgiveness pays that debt.
Perhaps the greatest obstacle to joyful creation is self-judgment. Self-judgment sours our view of ourselves and poisons our view of others as well. It makes things feel heavy and bleak. Of all judgments, perhaps the most insidious is self-judgment. It is pervasive and sneaky. It hides within the idea that if we are just harder on ourselves, we will better ourselves. If only we would work harder and be more disciplined, we would be better. If we were only better, we would feel better. If only we were good, then we might be worthy. No matter how much I learn about myself and how the world operates, I see that how I occur to myself directly impacts how others and the world occur to me.
The basis of this session was how to harness the power of creation. Steve shared with me in depth that forgiveness is the means to harness that power.
“Guess what happens when I forgive myself? I create! Guess what happens when I forgive someone? I create.”
Creating is a state of being that comes from knowing who I am. If I am at peace with who I am, I am able to leave footprints of my being with everyone I meet. I want to be someone who makes a difference in the lives of those I am with. I want to practice a daily invitation to create with the dance of life. I want to practice noticing the judgments I carry with me. I want to practice forgiveness and choose to create from a heart that is light and free. “Kill judgment and criticism with love and create from the inside out.”
Question: How does one kill judgment and create from the inside out?
Answer: By acknowledging your judgement. By allowing it. By not making it wrong. By not making yourself wrong and by forgiving yourself for being human, by forgiving yourself for the judgments you harbour against yourself and others,. By feeling the heaviness of the judgments you have been holding on to. “That which has not been embraced by you imprisons you. Forgive and be free to be.”
For my homework, I was asked to review all the times I listened without power and how this affected me. I decided to look at all the notes from my sessions and compare my life from May 29th, 2018 to this session. This was very helpful for me. I felt the changes that happened in the six months of our coaching. I was happy to see how much I had grown. I also realized there were things that still bothered me and that I needed to work on. I utilized my notes in a powerful way. My investment in me, with Steve was paying compound interest.
To help you with this, I humbly suggest you read the first seven posts and notes from my personal Substack again. Pay particular attention to where you are not listening to yourself with power, and practice forgiving yourself every day. If you would like to feel the full power of the work, I invite you to reach out to me with any questions you may have.
”When we are already judging ourselves about anything, we already feel the effects of that long before we feel the sting of judgment from others. We’ve already beaten them to the punch.”
This has been one of the most powerful reviews for me personally. I’ve gleaned so much power from seeing where I am inviting the non-powerful residue of past thinking into my life. In writing this post, I not only relived this session but breathed new life into my understanding of it, taking a stand for this way of forgiveness in my life.
